So in my last post I talked about us being full time in our camper and some of the renovations we need to do. Well we started on the bunk room for our sons room. We haven’t stripped out the top bunk but we did take the bottom one out. I will post a picture of before and after and would love to see or hear your ideas for better storage for his room!
Hope everyone had happy holidays!
This was before when we first bought itIgnore all the toys this is now as you walk into the room And this is the other part of the room, all this is under the top bunk which will eventually be removed other than a shelf for storage above the playpen.
Today is December 1st which means there is officially 25 days until Christmas. Usually, I am on top of shopping for everyone, which I am except for my husband. I have 1 gift for him that he picked out during black Friday shopping. Is anyone else struggling to find the right gifts for their significant other? I have no idea what to get him, usually I can get him some type of tool or something he needs for outside but now that we are full time camper living it isn’t that easy. So, que the random google searches for ideas for Christmas… maybe I will get lucky and find something? Fingers crossed.
As some of you may know and some of you may not know, my family and I have been full time camper living since July. In July, my husband got a job offer that we could not pass up and it was a traveling job. We had the choice of him going out of town for 2 weeks at a time and only be home for 2 days and staying in a hotel or we could go with him. We decided that we wanted to be together, especially since he just returned from a deployment where he was gone pretty much my whole pregnancy and didn’t return until our son was almost 3 months old (he left July 2020 and came back March 2021). So the best option for our family was going with him, we bought a camper and packed our whole life in it. My husband, son and I and our two small dogs. We did it all in just 2 days and came to Nashville, TN for the first job. We were there until the end of September, then we drove to Charlotte, NC where we are now. Living full time in a camper is not bad at all for us. We have a new 2021 Alpha Wolf camper, it has the master bedroom, bathroom, living room with a couch that makes a bed, u-shaped dinette table that also makes a bed if we need, has a walk in pantry, bigger fridge than most, and we have a bunk room that has some storage and 2 full size bunks. We are going to strip out the bunk room to make it an actual bedroom for our 10 month old son. Babies have a lot of stuff and even though we watch what we get for him, it still piles up. So with Christmas coming up and his first birthday in January we are definitely needing to do some renovations for his bedroom.
If anybody has ideas or similar experiences I would love to hear it! I would love to find some other families that are full time camper living as well and would love to share stories and helpful tips! I am currently trying to figure out where I am going to put our little 4-foot Christmas tree so my son leaves it alone. He currently will not leave anything alone so this should be fun!
As I’m sitting here typing this my son is climbing up my body determined to try and get my glasses. But anyway, I just want to tell a little story. A couple months ago (August 23rd) I saw a post on fb of someone I went to school with but hadn’t talk to since, her post said something about “needing a friend.” She just had a baby, I just had a baby, so I decided to message her as if I was replying to the post. We instantly clicked. We have talked almost everyday since and I truly feel like we have been best friends for years. The conversations just flow so naturally, we talk about anything and everything, we have a lot in common and I trust her (which is something that is hard for me). I just wanna take a moment and thank God for placing her in my life when I didn’t even know I truly needed her. A friendship we have started and that I truly hope lasts a lifetime! I want to thank her for being in my life, listening to all of my rants, just being there! Finding mommy friends is hard! Especially with our lifestyle, moving constantly for my husbands work. So I am just so thankful for Nikki! I don’t know if she will see this but I just wanted to thank her publicly! Every mommy needs their “Nikki” but just not mine! ❤️
Today was my husbands first day back to work after the long weekend, so he got up and left by 530. Jaxen (my son) decided he wanted to be up by 730 and usually he goes back to sleep until around 930-1000, sometimes even later. So Jaxen and I get up and have some breakfast and play. Around 930 he starts getting super sleepy, so we go to our bed and lay down. He’s asleep by 945 so I lay there and am trying to decide if I want to take a nap and cuddle with him or do the 1000 things I have to do…. Well I decided to take a nap and we just woke up at 1220. I know people say to take advantage of when they are sleeping to get things done, but I just love cuddling him while he still wants too. One day he isn’t going to want to so I’m soaking up every minute of it! Who else loves the snuggles from their babies?! I hope everybody had a great Labor Day Weekend!
I’m sitting outside while my husband changes his tires on his truck and Jaxen is playing in his play dome. It’s 5:40 and it’s still so hot outside! This Nashville heat is no joke. I am so ready for the cool sweater weather, cute boots and leggings everyday! Wait.. leggings everyday is what I do now?! Anybody else ready for fall? If so what is your favorite thing about fall?
So.. today is the day we all dread when our spouses come home from deployment…. Yes it’s Yellow Ribbon Day. Anybody who knows what I’m talking about knows how crappy this day is. Mandatory briefings pretty much all day long for the soldier and their families. Talking about the stuff we all know about and hear about all the time being in the military world. So I hope all of your Saturdays are fun filled unlike ours! That’s my rant for now!
So as I am sitting here debating whether I should nap with my son or pack our clothes for the weekend, I find myself just staring at him while he’s sleeping. The fact that it feels like just yesterday I was going in for my c-section and now he’s 7 months old…. Time flies. My heart aches for the fact that’s he’s growing up so fast, but watching him grow and learn new things every single day make my heart melt. Being a mom is hard, being a stay at home mom is hard, but I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything. I love being a mom, I love being a wife. Both of those things make me who I am today. I love them both unconditionally and I’m so blessed to have them. But on another note…. Nap? Or do what I need to do and pack? Hmmmmmm…
My name is Courtney and I am going to take this time to tell you a little about myself. I am a mommy and a wife as you can tell by my blog name! My husbands name is Brandon and we have been married 2 years this coming January and have been together almost 6 years in December. Brandon is currently in the Army and we have been through 2 deployments so far. Hoping he doesn’t go on another for a while! The second one was a lot harder than the first. For his full time job he is now working as a Construction Laborer for a company called Hi Way Paving. He used to work for the Army full time but we decided we needed a change! With this job we get to travel together as a family in our new camper! We have a son named Jaxen (my husband calls him Junior most of the time) and he just turned 7 months old. He is our little miracle baby, which I will tell you guys all about another day. We have two fur babies, Gypsy, and Bruno. They are spoiled and rotten! We are from a small town in West Virginia but we are currently living right outside of Nashville TN for work. I made this blog for me as an outlet, to vent, to talk about my day and what’s going on.. good or bad and to always meet new people! Being a Stay at Home Mom is rough some days but so rewarding and I wouldn’t change it for anything. It just definitely gets a little lonely! If ever you need me to talk about something specific, or have questions or anything, reach out and I will do my best for you! This is new for me so just bare with me as I navigate all of it! Well, that’s pretty much it for the introduction about me and my family… so until next time!
